Feel you'd like to help out in some way?
You can support charities in a number of ways. The quickest and simplest
way is to donate money. You can donate goods to charity shops, or volunteer
to work with a charity.
If you donate money you can make one off payments or you can donate on
a regular basis by standing order.
You can leave charities money in your will.
You can adopt animals and support charities by this, or buy gifts through
a charity shop or catalogues to provide them with an income and yourself
with cards or presents. You can sign petitions and offer support this
way as the petition the government to improve things.
By giving your old junk to charity you are helping them raise money.
Only send good stuff as broken and damaged items can't be sold.

The Disaster
Emergency Commission constitutes 13 humanitarian charities that
respond to international disasters, sending medical, food and shelter
aid to areas of the world stricken by natural and man-made disasters.
The DEC has started an appeal for these charities in Samoa, Philippines,
Vietnam and Indonesia following the earthquakes and tsunami last
week when thousands of people lost their lives and tens of thousands
more were left homeless, and without sanitation, food or water. |

In total nearly 32,000 children in the UK are known to be at risk
of some kind of abuse right now. You can help stop this by registering
your name in support with the nspcc.
This is one of the best known charities in the UK - a very worthy
charity - National Society Prevention of Cruelty to Children. |
| The
Aspinall Foundation are devoted to saving rare and endangered
animals, returning them to protected areas in the wild. We are a charity
which works to promote wildlife conservation. Set up in 1984, we run
two zoos, Port Lympne Zoo and Howletts Wild Animal Park in Kent, England.
We also support a number of conservation projects overseas to protect
endangered species.
Our zoos have an impressive record in the breeding of rare and
endangered animals. The zoos are currently home to 14 Indian, Siberian
and Sumatran tigers. The Foundation set up a project for Gorillas
orphaned by bush meat poachers in the Republic of Congo in the late
1980s and in 1998, and set up an orphan gorilla project in the neighbouring
state of Gabon. |

The
Foundation for the Relief of Disabled Orphans ( F.R.O.D.O.)
 F.R.O.D.O.
started its work in 2006 focusing on ways to get access to medical
treatment for children with disabilities living in institutions.
We devised a series of programmes to deliver this objective.
F.R.O.D.O. Medical programmes identify orphans and abandoned children
with disabilities or life-limiting conditions, then strive to provide
medical treatment in the hope that this will transform their quality
of life, and increase the number of opportunities for them to fulfill
their potential.
F.R.O.D.O.’s mission is “To transform the quality of
life, provide hope and empower orphans in developing countries who
suffer from disability or life threatening illness".
We work by forming partnerships with charities and medical professionals
on the ground in the countries in which we work to facilitate access
to often life-saving and/or life altering medical treatments.
All too often children in developing countries do not have the
same opportunity as children in the West in accessing medical treatments
which could ultimately save lives or give hope for a better future.
F.R.O.D.O. opens the doors allowing that opportunity to happen.
You can help us to reach out to more vulnerable children who need
urgent medical treatment and care.
Your support will help us to further our work with disabled orphans
and abandoned children in developing countries.

| I am part of a volunteer committee for Cancer Research organising
an event in Battersea, London. The event is called Relay for
Life and involves teams getting together and fundraising.
On the day teams set up a tent overnight and take it in turns to walk
around a track - as a sign that the search for a cure for cancer never
sleeps. There is plenty to do throughout the event with food, entertainment,
freebies and times to celebrate and remember those who have been touched
by cancer.
Last year 150 people took part and we raised £22,000. This
year we would love to do even better. The event takes place on the
weekend of the 13th and 14th September in Battersea Park, starting
around 2.00PM on the Saturday and finishing at 10AM on the Sunday.
Throughout the event there will be bands, comedians and stalls -
giving the whole event a festival feel. If

 Big
C is a proudly independent local charity only funding projects in
Norfolk & Waveney. Big C funds world-class research, medical
equipment and nursing and also the Big C Family Cancer Information
and Support Centre situated at the Norfolk & Norwich University
Hospital. Big C was founded in 1980 and has raised over £12
million to date to help those affected by cancer in Norfolk &
Waveney.

1. Big C Cuppa 12th - 18th May
This year Big C is launching our first ever 'Big C Cuppa' event
and we are asking for people to 'have your tea for Big C' by inviting
friends, family and colleagues round for a special cuppa to raise
funds for cancer research, care and equipment in Norfolk & Waveney.
We are asking businesses, clubs, schools and community groups of
any kind to participate and if enough people support us in this
small way and hold a Big C Cuppa, it will enable us to make a BIG
difference to the lives of those people who are affected by cancer
in our region.
The dedicated week is from Monday 12th May to Sunday 18th May, although,
of course, you can hold your Big C Cuppa anytime throughout the
year. Why not try and hold the wackiest 'Cuppa' either at an unusual
venue or with a wildy original theme? Big C will provide you with
advertising materials and all the help that you need. All you have

This is a sponsored 6 mile walk passing through the otherwise private

Lake to support and remember those affected by cancer and to raise
funds for Big C.
