Charity Name: The National Hospital Development Foundation
Charity Number: 290173
Event Name: London Bridgathon
Date: Sunday 19 September 2010
Time: 11.00-15.00

Details: Join us on Sunday 19 September 2010 to help transform Brain Cancer Care. Bring your friends and family and enjoy a fun day out walking six of London’s bridges over the River Thames. The Bridgathon route begins and ends at Jubilee Gardens, crossing Westminster Bridge at its most westerly then heading east to Tower Bridge. The walk covers a distance of six miles and takes approximately two and a half hours to three hours to complete at a leisurely pace.

Sights en route include: Lambeth Palace, Big Ben, Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe, HMS Belfast and the Tower of London.

Its a great day out for all ages and abilities- and it's completely free. Just raise as much sponsorship as you can! Money raised from the London Bridgathon will go towards the final stage of our £2.5 million appeal to create the UK’s first Brain Tumour Unit at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

More Information: For more information or to register for this event contact Glen Pickard on 0207 829 8724 or email: glen.pickard@uclh.nhs.uk

I'm trying to raise money for the Niger famine. I've asked if all my friends can family can refrain from getting me anything for my 21st but instead the money they would spend on a on card of present, if they could donate to help alleviate the Niger famine through giving me the money or donating it on my online webpage (or to me directly). The money goes straight to Plan International UK who have made a second emergency appeal for financial assistance and have so far managed to save the lives of 200,000 people

Lisa Cornish, one of Greyhoundhomer RGTs volunteer dog walkers, will be taking part in this years Great North Run to raise funds for us. The Great North Run is a half marathon which will take place on the 19th of September 2010. The run is the worlds largest half marathon and is broadcast by BBC Television as well as being on BBC Radio 5 Live. If you would like to sponsor Lisa you can do so by either catching up with her at the Kennels, she's usually in on Sundays, or you can make a donation through the Charity Choice website. Running 13 miles is a considerable undertaking for anyone and we would like to thank Lisa for supporting Greyhoundhomer RGT in this way. It's very much appreciated.

Sandra Finnimore says:

I am doing a sponsored trek to the Great Wall of China for Have a Heart to raise money for underprivileged children. In total I need to raise £2850 minimum sponsorship. I have to have the bulk of this money in by the end of November.

I am organising a charity auction/raffle on 19th September as my first major event and would love to have some cash sponsors as well as those to donate auction items or raffle prizes.

Any amount that can be donated, no matter how small or large will all go to make a difference for these children.
